EcoVadis
Scanfil has earned a Gold Medal, a recognition awarded to the Top 5% of companies assessed by EcoVadis in the 12 months prior to the medal issue date. It reflects the quality of the company’s sustainability management system and demonstrates a commitment to promoting transparency throughout the value chain.
The United Nations Global Compact
Scanfil supports the Sustainable Development Goals and is a member of the United Nations Global Compact initiative. The companies involved in the Global Compact are committed to the ten principles of human rights, labor standards, the environment, and the eradication of corruption. Scanfil has evaluated 17 UN’s Sustainability Development Goals (SDGs) and identified the seven most relevant to its operations and stakeholders: 12 Responsible Consumption and Production, 13 Climate Action, 3 Good Health, 5 Gender Equality, 8 Decent Work and Economic Growth, 10 Reduced Inequalities, and 16 Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.

Scanfil has further refined its approach to corporate responsibility by identifying several key themes. These include a responsible offering, as well as responsibility toward partners, the community, personnel, and the environment. Scanfil manufactures products according to the specifications and requirements provided by its customers.
Environment
The focus areas of environmental responsibility in improving productivity and efficiency are the efficient use of raw materials, control of energy and water consumption, as well as the management and reduction of waste, and the reduction of the carbon footprint. All the company’s plants are ISO 14001-certified.
- Commitment to Reducing Carbon Footprint: Scanfil is actively working to minimize carbon emissions by reducing business travel and promoting virtual meetings. When travel is necessary, employees are encouraged to choose environmentally friendly options. Efforts also include providing bus transportation to reduce commuting emissions and updating vehicle policies to favor low-emission and hybrid cars.
- Clear CO2 Emission Targets: Scanfil’s emission reduction goals are aligned with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, with a focus on achieving significant results by 2030. Scanfil is monitoring and managing Scope 1 & 2 emissions directly, alongside relevant Scope 3 emissions, which cover indirect impacts such as business travel, procurement, waste, and water.
- Comprehensive Environmental Management: All Scanfil factories are certified according to the ISO 14001:2015 environmental management system. This certification ensures continuous measurement, management, and improvement of environmental performance, involving both employees and management.
- Value Chain-wide Environmental Focus: Environmental impacts are considered throughout the company’s entire value chain—from material procurement, product design, and manufacturing to logistics, distribution, and recycling. Efficient use of resources and environmentally friendly materials are prioritized at every stage.
